You can’t spend five minutes on the internet these days without hearing about “AI-this” or “AI-that”. The advent of easily-implementable AI is rewriting what’s possible each day, and the world of website building is no different. We’ve watched AI integration go from being a neat gimmick to being present in nearly all stages of the website-building process.

But which Wix. An AI is only as good as the toolbox you give it, and with Wix, you receive the best toolbox around. However, all of our top-rated website builders are using AI in cool and innovative ways, so let’s take a look at the best AI website builders for 2024.

Why Do You Need an AI Website Builder?

Over the past year, the definition of what an “AI website builder” is has changed dramatically. When AI was new and shiny and most website builders hadn’t the means to implement it yet, we and many others described any website building provider with AI tools to be an “AI website builder”.

However, AI usage has exploded in the industry, with most, if not all, website builders now providing some form of AI integration in the website-building process. Therefore, we’ve reevaluated our position. An AI website builder, to us at Website Builder Guide, can be defined by its use of AI to help you build a website from scratch.

Using AI from the ground up when building your site is what separates an AI website builder from a regular builder. But remember, AI cannot create, it can only copy. AI learns through real-life examples and databases. In most cases, AI can’t surpass good old-fashioned human creativity – but it certainly cuts down on time and effort!

Wix – Best Overall AI Features

Pricing range: $17 -$159 per month + 10% off when using code TAKE10 (billed annually)

Read our full Wix Review for a detailed look at its features, pricing, and more

Wix Pros

  • Best range of features in our research
  • Consistently updating with new AI tools
  • Wix Studio offers AI-integrated web development

Wix Cons

  • Wix ADI theme color options are limited to six
  • Most expensive builder on this list

Wix was one of the first adopters of AI, starting in 2016 with its ADI function. This tool used AI to build users a personal website based on their answers to a quick questionnaire. Nowadays, this serves as the basis for all AI website builders, and Wix has really fleshed out its arsenal of AI features since then, including:

  • AI Text Creator: Wix uses a ChatGPT integration to generate up to three text options based on a prompt in a number of different styles. This saves time filling out both copy and product descriptions for online stores.
  • AI Section Generator: Wix can also generate entire website sections, such as an “About Us” page.
  • AI Email Creator: Generate and send out emails for your website using AI. This saves time and is a great marketing tool for increasing the traffic to your site.
  • AI SEO Assistant: Many beginners don’t understand the importance of SEO. With the AI SEO assistant, Wix will suggest quick fixes and changes, as well as generate optimal meta tags for your website.
  • AI Image Creator: You can create images based on prompts. However, results may not always be perfect. The Wix AI Logo Generator is also available which is useful for new businesses creating their brand.
  • AI CMS Collections: Use AI to create organizational spreadsheets for a variety of businesses and industries.

With all these features, Wix has utilized AI to make many parts of the building process as easy as possible. The Wix AI site generator is ideal for beginners who are happy to let AI take the wheel when it comes to building and designing your site. Be warned, the ADI-created templates only give you six other options for colors – if you want full creative control, you can always edit manually. There’s also the AI Chatbot, which you can use to describe your desired site as a prompt instead.

One feature that Wix has over other providers is its Wix Studio tool. This is a building platform more suited to web developers, giving them the tools to create their website via code while still utilizing Wix’s backend. Wix Studio users can use AI to ease the building process, letting web developers spend time on the design while using AI to save on certain tasks.

How Much Does Wix Cost?

Wix’s pricing includes four premium plans and an enterprise plan, starting at the $17 per month Light plan. There is also a free plan:

  • Free plan: – $0
  • Light plan: – $17 per month
  • Core plan: – $29 per month
  • Business: – $36 per month
  • Business Elite: – $159 per month
  • Enterprise: – Custom pricing

You get AI features on all of the plans, even the free plan. However, the free plan comes with many limitations, such as ads and no custom domain.

The cheapest plan, Light, starts at $17 per month (billed annually), which is a lot when compared to Hostinger’s starting price of $2.99 per month (billed annually). However, if you’re willing to pay more, you’ll get the best features and AI tools.

Additionally, if you want 10% off, you can use the code “TAKE10” at checkout.

GoDaddy – For Building an AI Website Quickly

Pricing range: $9.99 – $20.99 per month (billed annually)

Read our full GoDaddy Review for a detailed look at its features, pricing, and more

GoDaddy Pros

  • Have a website up and running in under a minute
  • AI Prompt Library for help using AI generation tools
  • AI tools for managing your business and marketing

GoDaddy Cons

  • AI-created templates aren’t as well-designed as Wix’s templates
  • AI Product Descriptions require uploading photos of the product
  • No prompts for digital ads, just auto-generated suggestions

GoDaddy was a very big adopter of AI when it first began to make its way into the website-building industry. When you first boot up GoDaddy, you’ll be automatically given the AI website builder rather than choose a template. Our testers found the generated templates to be really accurate to the prompts, but not as visually appealing as Wix’s.

However, unlike Wix, GoDaddy can have a website ready in under a minute. GoDaddy’s editor is extremely easy to use, meaning that if you’re happy with all the auto-generated copy and images, you can publish the website right then and there.

If you want to spend more time editing and managing your site, you can use GoDaddy’s new AI platform for small businesses, GoDaddy Airo. With Airo, GoDaddy promises you’ll save up to 300 hours thanks to AI tools like:

  • AI domain names: Uses AI to suggest and find the perfect domain name for your new business.
  • GoDaddy Studio: A built-in app that uses AI to generate social media ads and videos to market your business. You can also use it to create logos through AI – this helps your business become recognizable online.
  • Conversations: GoDaddy Airo can collect all customer correspondence and organize it by relevance, while also generating responses. You can also use it for email marketing.
  • Product Descriptions: Based on your uploaded product photos, GoDaddy can write descriptions for your business products.
  • AI Prompt Library: A supportive tool that helps users learn how to write better prompts to get more out of AI.

How Much Does GoDaddy Cost?

Thanks to its free plan, you don’t need to worry about committing right away to one of GoDaddy’s pricing plans – but you will need to worry about ads and no custom domain if you decide to stay on it. If you do want to sign up, GoDaddy offers three premium plans, ranging from $9.99 to $20.99 per month (billed annually).

We would recommend the Premium plan for $14.99 per month, as it offers the best range of features for the price, but don’t worry as all of GoDaddy’s AI features come as standard across its plans too.

Hostinger – For Building an AI Website on a Budget

Pricing range: $2.99 – 3.99 per month (billed annually) + 10% off when using code WBE

Read our full Hostinger Review for a detailed look at its features, pricing, and more

Hostinger Pros

  • Cheapest builder on this list
  • AI Logo Generator can auto-generate twelve designs in seconds
  • AI Heatmap predicts where visitors’ eyes will be drawn

Hostinger Cons

  • ADI design is ugly compared to Wix or GoDaddy
  • Text can be off-center with bad font choices
  • AI Logo Generator can sometimes

Hostinger is great for those seeking a cheaper AI website builder. Unlike Wix and GoDaddy, you won’t have to answer a questionnaire for it to create your site. Instead, it asks you to describe your website with a prompt, rating it via a color scale depending on how detailed it is.

The results of Hostinger’s AI website builder aren’t as strong as Wix or GoDaddy – the auto-generated text is often off-center and the font choice and color don’t match the rest of the templates.

While this can be detrimental to your building process, Hostinger’s editor is extremely easy to use, meaning you can fix any issues quite easily. In terms of other AI tools, Hostinger comes quite stacked, focusing more on using AI in a support role:

  • AI Blog Writer: You can generate up to 2,000-word blogs thanks to Hostigner’s AI content creation, helping you connect with audiences.
  • AI Assistant: If you choose to use Hostinger’s hosting or WordPress capabilities, Hostinger has AI assistants to help you manage your site’s settings.
  • AI Image and Logo Generator: Hostinger has both an AI Image and Logo Generator. However, compared to other builders like Wix and GoDaddy, the results are not as consistent.
  • AI Heatmap: Hostinger can plot where website visitors are clicking, helping you better optimize your site’s design.
  • AI SEO: Much like Wix, Hostinger has AI-powered SEO tips and meta tag suggestions so you can better rank on search results.

How Much Does Hostinger Cost?

Hostinger’s pricing has two plans – the Premium Website Builder plan for $2.99 per month and the Business Website Builder for $3.99 per month (billed annually). While you get the AI Website Builder on both plans, you need the Business plan to unlock the other AI tools and sell online.

  • Good to know: If you sign up for a 48-month contract, you can get 10% off by using our exclusive code WBE at checkout. Also, Hostinger is known to often throw in a free month or two as a bonus on the 48-month plan, so keep an eye out on the checkout page to see what promos might be available.

Once your first term of your subscription is over, your plan will renew at a higher cost. For example, once 12 months have passed on your annual subscription, your plan renews at $11.99/month. We still recommend the Business plan due to it being such good value, but just be prepared for those renewal prices.

IONOS – For The Biggest Range of AI Features

Pricing range: $1 – $30 per month (billed annually)

Read our full IONOS Review for a detailed look at its features, pricing, and more

IONOS Pros

  • Only costs $1 for the first six months on the Plus plan
  • IONOS has consistently high performance
  • AI Text Improver can solidify tone across copy

IONOS Cons

  • Weak customization tools
  • AI-generated templates are outdated and basic
  • Expensive renewal costs

IONOS, like Hostinger and GoDaddy, is a combination website builder and hosting provider. Initially, we weren’t impressed with its website-building capabilities, but IONOS recently overhauled itself to become an AI website builder, bringing with it a ton of new AI features.

So how does it compare? Sadly, the AI website builder is not magic, and the generated templates still have a number of design issues, such as not only

While the AI website builder wasn’t the best we’ve seen, we couldn’t deny that IONOS was fast in creating it – IONOS consistently ranks well in our research for site speed and performance. Plus, the website builder wasn’t the only AI tool we could test since it also comes parcelled with:

  • AI Text Generation: Save time writing by having AI generate it for you. You can change the tone and even have it generate headlines.
  • AI Text Improver: This feature, unique to IONOS, uses AI to make sure the tone of your text is consistent. This is really useful when tailoring your site to specific industries or audiences.
  • AI SEO Text Generation: Much like Wix and GoDaddy, IONOS can suggest SEO tips and metadata to add to make sure your site is SEO-friendly.
  • AI Image Generator: Write a prompt and generate an image. Like Hostinger though, the results can be a little shaky and noticeably AI-generated.
  • AI Color Palette Generator: Specify your desired impression and industry, and IONOS will create a harmonious palette that aligns with your vision and website elements.

How Much Does IONOS Cost?

IONOS’ pricing is split between three plans, with the Plus plan on offer for only $1 per month for the first six months. With this plan, you’ll get the AI website builder, plus all the AI Text and Image Generation features in one place.

However, after the six months is up, you’ll be paying $18 per month. This is a rather steep uptick in price, but it is still the best value plan offered by IONOS. The next plan, the Pro, renews at $30 per

How to Choose the Best AI Website Builder for Your Business

Now that you have the breakdown of the best AI website builders, it’s time to make a choice. While AI tools are certainly impressive and can save a lot of building time, you want your website builder to have all the other features you need. For example, AI-generated product descriptions won’t be useful if you aren’t starting an online store.

When picking your builder, keep in mind that there are other factors to consider apart from AI – it’s bright, shiny, and new, but it can’t (currently) do everything for you. Luckily, we’ve made a list of everything you need to ask yourself before you make your choice:

  • Does it have the AI features I want?
  • Does it have other tools I need?
  • Can I afford the plan in my budget?
  • Is there help and support for me if I encounter an issue?

How We Test

Our in-house research team carries out rigorous testing before we make any recommendations. Every builder goes through this research process because this helps us rate and compare the builders fairly, plus guarantee to focus on important factors that users have told us matter the most:

Website Features – weighting: 20%

Design Functionalities – weighting: 20%

Value for Money – weighting: 10%

Help and Support – weighting: 5%

Customer Satisfaction – weighting: 25%

Ease of Use – weighting: 20%

AI Website Builders: Final Thoughts

To conclude, the best AI website builder is Wix. Throughout this list, we’ve reiterated that AI is a helpful tool but it can’t make up for a lack of features. It’s the oil on the axle that makes the car move smoother, not the wheel itself. That’s why Wix, already with its great library of features, has the best AI features because it’s simply a superior toolbox to work with.

New AI implementations are being rolled out each week. What is brand new and innovative today may be obsolete by next week. It’s a brave new world out there, and there’s not much the average person can do to stop it now – so you may as well jump on board!

Whatever the case, the best AI website builder will be the one that appeals to you the most. So go out and get testing!
