Wix Improves SEO With AI Meta Tag Creator

• Wix is bringing AI functionality to its in-built SEO tools
• Users will be able to instantly generate meta tags, optimizing for SEO while also saving users time

Website builder Wix has announced that it will add AI generation to its SEO toolkit, starting with meta tags. The company promises that this new addition will increase user’s search visibility in a fraction of the time users will be used to.

While Wix has a long history of being an AI website builder, starting in 2016 with its ADI, this is the first time AI has been added to Wix’s SEO tools. The AI Meta Tag Creator, natively developed and powered by OpenAI, will offer suggestions for title tags and meta descriptions that are not only SEO-optimized but also seamlessly in line with your website’s tone of voice and brand.

Meta tags are important for SEO because they provide important information for search engines due to their appearance in your site’s HTML code. However, having to manually input meta tags for every image and piece of content is a time-consuming task. Wix’s AI Meta Tag Creator analyzes content from your site and is designed to generate relevant meta tags.

As Nati Elimelech, Head of SEO at Wix, says of the new tool,

By simply clicking “Create with AI” in the SEO panel, Wix will generate three suggestions for meta tags or title tags based on several different factors, such as page type, page name, keyword, and page content.

This feature is available for all English-language Wix users. No details have yet been revealed about other languages available.
